Close the IRS Petition
Petition to Close the Internal Revenue Service, Repeal the 16th Amendment, and Reform Federal Taxation
We, the undersigned citizens of the United States, urgently demand the closure of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the repeal of the 16th Amendment, and a restructuring of federal taxation to empower states and ensure transparency.
The 16th Amendment, enacted in 1913, and the IRS impose a complex and burdensome income tax system that penalizes productivity and burdens Americans with excessive compliance costs.
We believe states should control all tax collection to better serve local needs, and the federal government must justify its spending before receiving funds.
We therefore demand that Congress, the President and State Legislatures work together to:
1. Preform any acts necessary to repeal the 16th Amendment to eliminate the federal income tax.
2. Close the Internal Revenue Service permanently.
3. Require states to collect and retain all taxes, distributing funds to the federal government only after the federal government fully discloses its budget for public review and approval.
4. Develop alternative federal revenue systems that are simple, fair, and transparent.
These actions will restore state authority, ensure federal accountability, and promote economic freedom for all Americans.
Signed,
We The People
