Congressional Term Limits, Recall, and 17th Amendment Repeal Petition Letter

Dear Elected Representative,

I am writing as a constituent to let you know that I have signed a petition calling for congressional term limits, a lawful process for voters to recall elected members of Congress, and repeal of the 17th Amendment.

Public office should be public service—not a lifetime career.

When elected officials remain in Washington for decades, political power can become concentrated in the hands of career politicians who are increasingly removed from the citizens they were elected to represent.

I am calling for constitutional reforms that would:

• Establish reasonable term limits for members of the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate.

• Establish a constitutional process allowing voters to recall members of Congress who fail to represent their constituents.

• Return the selection of U.S. Senators to state legislatures through repeal of the 17th Amendment, restoring the states' direct representation in the federal government.

• Provide a secure and transparent process through which citizens can participate in petitions and recall efforts.

• Require that these reforms proceed through the lawful constitutional amendment and ratification process.

These reforms would help restore accountability, reduce the power of career politicians, strengthen the role of the states in our federal system, and give citizens greater ability to hold their elected representatives accountable.

I urge you to support constitutional reforms that return government closer to the structure envisioned by our Constitution and restore greater accountability to We the People.

Furthermore,

I am committed to standing with my fellow Americans to Support Policy NOT Politicians.

If you choose to ignore or dismiss this petition, I will take that as a failure to represent the people you were elected to serve. I will remember that when I vote, and I will encourage others to do the same.

We the People have had enough. Too many elected officials prioritize special interests over their constituents and avoid accountability. That era is ending. We will continue to organize, speak with one voice, petition our government, and hold public officials accountable through every lawful means available.

Respectfully,
