Prison Reform Petition Letter

Dear Elected Representative,

I am writing as a constituent to let you know that I have signed a petition calling for meaningful prison reform.

For too long, a soft-on-crime agenda has failed taxpayers, failed victims, and failed to make our communities safer. That needs to stop immediately.

Our prison and correctional systems cost taxpayers tens of billions of dollars annually, yet too many people released from prison return to the criminal justice system. That is a broken system. We should not keep pouring taxpayer dollars into a system without demanding better results, greater accountability, and fewer repeat offenders.

I am calling for practical reforms that would reduce costs while giving inmates opportunities to develop useful skills, including:

• Requiring inmates to sort landfill waste for recycling to help offset prison costs.
• Having inmates raise and prepare their own food while learning agriculture, animal husbandry, and culinary skills.
• Funding culinary and agricultural training that can lead to employment after release.
• Directing the savings into rehabilitation and mental-health programs.

These changes would reduce costs, build practical skills, and create a better path toward successful reentry. I urge you to support prison reform that puts public safety, accountability, and real results first.

Furthermore,

I am committed to standing with my fellow Americans to Support Policy NOT Politicians.

If you choose to ignore or dismiss this petition, I will take that as a failure to represent the people you were elected to serve. I will remember that when I vote, and I will encourage others to do the same.

We the People have had enough. Too many elected officials prioritize special interests over their constituents and avoid accountability. That era is ending. We will continue to organize, speak with one voice, petition our government, and hold public officials accountable through every lawful means available.

Respectfully,
