Dear Elected Representative,

I am writing as a constituent to let you know that I have signed a petition calling for the repeal of the 16th Amendment, an end to direct federal income taxation of individual Americans and American businesses, the closing of the IRS, and the restoration of greater financial and constitutional authority to the states and the people.

The 16th Amendment stands in direct conflict with the original Constitution's requirement that direct taxes be apportioned among the states. Although the 16th Amendment became part of the Constitution when ratified, it changed that original structure by authorizing Congress to tax incomes without apportionment among the states and without regard to the census.

It is time to restore the original constitutional balance.

The petition I signed calls for:

• Repealing the 16th Amendment through the constitutional amendment process.

• Ending direct federal income taxation of individual Americans and American businesses.

• Closing the IRS as the federal income-tax collection and enforcement agency.

• Restoring greater financial authority to the states.

• Requiring the federal government to identify its constitutional authority BEFORE requesting money for a program or expenditure.

• Requiring Washington to justify the expense and present a transparent budget showing what it intends to do, how much it will cost, and where the money will go.

• Establishing a constitutional state-to-federal funding system in which the states provide the funding necessary for the federal government's legitimate constitutional responsibilities.

• Reducing Washington's ability to use federal funding, requirements, conditions, and/or strings attached to influence how states govern themselves.

• Keeping greater financial resources under state control, creating opportunities to fund state and local responsibilities while eliminating recurring property taxes on owner-occupied primary residences.

• Preventing the current federal income tax from simply being replaced by another federal tax or mandatory charge that recreates direct federal control over the income of individual Americans and American businesses.

The federal government has legitimate constitutional responsibilities, and those responsibilities must be funded.

But Washington should first establish that it has the constitutional authority to act.

Then it should explain what it intends to do, justify the expense, and present the budget.

Only then should it receive the money.

SHOW US THE CONSTITUTIONAL AUTHORITY.

SHOW US WHAT YOU INTEND TO DO.

JUSTIFY THE EXPENSE.

SHOW US THE BUDGET.

SHOW US WHERE THE MONEY IS GOING.

THEN ASK THE STATES TO FUND IT.

JUSTIFY THE SPENDING BEFORE YOU RECEIVE THE MONEY.

I am committed to standing with my fellow Americans to Support Policy NOT Politicians.

If you choose to ignore or dismiss this petition, I will take that as a failure to represent the people you were elected to serve. I will remember that when I vote, and I will encourage others to do the same.

We the People have had enough. Too many elected officials prioritize special interests over their constituents and avoid accountability. That era is ending. We will continue to organize, speak with one voice, petition our government, and hold public officials accountable through every lawful means available.
